4 Tips to get a Spray Tan OFF

We know how hard it can be to get a spray tan off. So we put together this list of 4 Tips to get a Spray Tan OFF! Hopefully you find it helpful.

We have all been there; day 7 of your spray tan and your natural skin color is starting to show through. Usually in the form of little white specks along your skin. Usually you want to get all of the color off right away when you start to notice this.

Too Sexy

Exfoliate

We  know this one seems obvious, but it’s worth repeating. Once you are beginning to notice the spray tan has faded, you will want to exfoliate during every shower/bath you take for the next few days. This will help to get the color off on a somewhat more gradual time frame. You only want to start exfoliating when you are ready for the color to come off, usually day 6-10.

Use a Dry Towel

When you exit the shower/bath use one towel to fully dry the skin. Then take a new completely dry towel and rub it over the body areas that you are having a harder time getting off. The dry towel will act as a “brush” to slough off the solution. For most people these areas include: Shins, Ankles, and Stomach.

Try Lemon/Vinegar for small fixes

If you forget to put barrier cream adequately around the hands/feet prior to getting a spray tan there may be some areas that absorb more color than may be desired. For most people this may be: The tops of toes, around wrist, or bottom of hands/feet. You can soak a cotton ball in White or Apple Vinegar and gently rub the cotton ball over the area repeatedly to fade the color. You will want to do this right away when you notice heavier color on a certain area. Some spray tanners have reported good results from doing the same thing with either lemon juice concentrate or lemon (cut the lemon in quarters and use it in lieu of a cotton ball, apply directly on the skin).

Get a wax, seriously.

If you absolutely need to get color off of a certain area, you can wax the area. You can use store bought wax (we recommend the pre made strips that do NOT involve heating the wax up). You can also head to your local esthetician and have them wax the area. Be aware that all of the hair on that area will also be removed with all of the color.
