What is the difference between an airbrush tan and VersaSpa?
An airbrush tan is applied by a trained spray tan technician using a handheld spray gun. The technician can customize the color, contour the body, and adjust the application to provide more detailed and personalized coverage.
A VersaSpa spray tan is applied automatically inside a spray tan booth. The machine sprays the solution in a preset, consistent pattern, making it quick, private and convenient, but with less customization than a technician-applied airbrush tan.
Simply put: airbrush is customized by a person, VersaSpa is fast, consistent and automated.
Custom Airbrush Spray Tan, $65.95
A technician applies the solution by hand, so the color goes exactly where you want it. It can be built up for definition or kept light, and matched to your skin tone. The solution uses anti-orange bronzer pigments and is paraben free, gluten free, nut allergen free and 100 percent vegan. Full body or custom areas. Typically lasts 5 to 10 days. Do you have a solution for photography?
Yes. We carry the Norvell Film-Ready line, made for modeling and photography where a tan has to hold up under flash. Ask for it when you book a custom airbrush tan.
What happens during an airbrush session?
You talk to your applicator first about your skin type, how deep you want the color and how long you want it to last. The session is private. Before application you can add an aloe prep spray, which helps the solution absorb evenly and hold longer. Afterwards you get instructions on when to shower and how to keep the tan even.
VersaSpa Sunless Spray Booth, $45.95
A private automated booth you step into on your own, with nobody else in the room. Three levels of color, clear or bronzer solution, and you can do full body, face only or legs only. The quickest of the three and the least expensive. Typically lasts 3 to 7 days. Packages: 3 for $115.95, 5 for $179.95, 10 for $279.95.
Rapid Airbrush Fast Spray Tan, $69.95
The same hand-applied airbrush tan using a rapid-development solution, so it is ready to rinse in a few hours rather than the next morning. This is the one to book when you need color the same day. Typically lasts 5 to 10 days. Packages: 3 for $189.95, 5 for $289.95, 10 for $459.95.
How should I prepare for a spray tan?
Shower, exfoliate and shave at least four hours before your appointment, and come with clean skin, no lotion, deodorant or makeup. Wear loose dark clothing.
How long before I can shower?
Wait eight hours after a standard airbrush or VersaSpa session. Your first shower rinses off the cosmetic bronzer, which is the color you see immediately. The tan underneath will have developed by then. The Rapid solution is different, so ask for your rinse time when you book.
Will a spray tan look orange?
Not when the solution is matched to your skin tone. Our technicians pick the shade for your skin type rather than applying one formula to everyone. If you have had an orange result elsewhere, say so and we will start you lighter.
